About the Author

Luz M. Marino is the author of 3 Habits for a Joyful Life: Serve, Grow, Share, a Christian faith-based personal development book.

She was born in Lima, Peru, and grew up traveling in the Peruvian land. As a consequence, she attended different schools from childhood to adolescence. As for her dad’s job as a police officer, they had to relocate every two years to a different region.

During her last three years of high school her family stayed in Lima, and she graduated from CAP GC Alipio Ponce Vasquez High School. After Luz attended the Private Educational Institute, I.E.S Margarita Cabrera, in Miraflores, Lima, to obtain her Certification as an Administrative Assistant. Years later, she pursued formal entrepreneurial education at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University of Lima. Although she dropped out of university, Luz began an ongoing self-education path that has not stopped.

As a twenty-year-old single mother, Luz raised her daughter while she grew as a new Christian under the guidance and wisdom of the Word of God. Furthermore, it poured into her faith, spiritual understanding, and the call to serve and improve in all areas of life.

In September 2001, Luz founded ADAIP, the “Peruvian Association of Integral Help,” led social help campaigns for people in need on the outskirts of Lima, and participated in other activities for the organization for three years.

Her personal development journey drove her to move to the United States in 2004. There, she has developed a career in Digital Marketing with a focus on content creation, and has more than ten years of experience. Such a journey also instilled in her the idea of becoming an author. Luz Marino started drafting the first chapters of her book in 2019, completed 3 Habits for a Joyful Life’s twelve chapters, and published it in July 2024.

Luz continues her entrepreneurial drive and faith-transformative journey while honing her professional and communication skills. She has been a member of Toastmasters since 2017, a public speaking and leadership organization that significantly contributed to her professional development, receiving recognition in the Toastmasters Educational Program “Pathways” Effective Coaching (EC5), Motivational Strategies (MS5), Competent Communicator (CC), and Competent Leader (CL). She is a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey.

Luz is a mother to one, a grandmother of two, an avid traveler, and a history lover.
